Integral Soul Work and Citizenship in a Brave New World

TERRY PATTEN

The path of the Integral Soul leads us towards unification of body and soul, heart and mind, Spirit and personality. It represents an alchemy of many wisdom schools, each honored for their unique contribution to creating evolved human beings.

The path of the Integral Soul is a birthing ground for true evolutionaries — people like you who are living at the leading edge of our culture.

In this Workshop, you will learn to surrender to the deeper invisible currents that pattern your psyche and to conduct that energy into your daily life.  As you do, the universe conspires to support you.

Why It’s Important to “Grow Up” before “Waking Up.”

Date and Time: August 23, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Place: Sedona, AZ

Are you trying to integrate spiritual experiences into your daily life, experiences that may range from bliss to frightening disorientation and physical disruption?  Or are you frustrated because everyone around you seems to have these experiences and you don’t?  What does it mean to “wake up” as opposed to “grow up”?  Are these different experiences or part of the same developmental process?

Lynn Royster Fuentes will talk about these and related issues using the framework of Terri O’Fallon’s elegant StAGES model, one that builds on and goes beyond the models of Ken Wilber, Susanne Cook-Greuter and other developmentalists to more fully integrate the two vectors of spiritual and personal growth.

Jose Ricardo Fuentes will discuss how the six essential steps of meditation relate to this tiered developmental model.

For a beginning look at these issues, please see WU & GU blog

Integral philosophy, developed by Ken Wilber, is, as its name implies, a way of looking at the world that integrates multiple worldviews and multiple disciplines. Such a perspective is essential today when most of the issues that face us are interdisciplinary and global in nature.

Integral philosophy also provides us with a holistic framework for understanding ourselves as physical, psychological, communal, and spiritual beings. It is also a map for showing us how we might grow in all these dimensions.

Wilber’s work can seem dense or difficult , but the basic principles are easy to understand and apply and absolutely relevant to our every day lives.

If you are interested in learning more about Wilber and the integral movement, or if you already have an acquaintance with his work and would like to expand on your understanding, please join for a two part presentation on his theories by Lynn and Jose Fuentes.

Integral 101 and 201 Deep Dive into Stages

OUR INTRODUCTORY CLASS RETURNS!

INTEGRAL THEORY: A FRAMEWORK FOR UNDERSTANDING A COMPLEX WORLD

The world has never been as complex as it is now, challenging us with problems like extreme fundamentalism, environmental degradation, failing education systems, existential alienation, and volatile financial markets. How do we make our way through the many disciplines and worldviews that we need to consider and consult in addressing these issues? We need a framework that can hold the many perspectives that have different things to offer our individual efforts and collective solution building.

American philosopher Ken Wilber has created Integral Theory to weave together the significant insights from all the major human disciplines of knowledge, including the natural and social sciences as well as the arts and humanities. It is now applied in over 35 distinct academic and professional fields and in personal transformation practices that engage body, mind and spirit.

After lunch, join Lynn Fuentes for a deep dive into stages of development.

Schedule for Introductory Class:
• 10 to noon:      Introduction
• Noon to 1:00:  Optional box lunch (Please RSVP to order lunch)
• 1:00 to 3:00:   Deep dive into stages of development

Location: Unity of Dallas, 6525 Forest Lane.
